Obituary for Juanita Harrison (Hodges)
Juanita H Harrison, 102, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 19th, 2017 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Juanita was born on October 30th, 1915 in Virginia to William and Lillie Hodges and was the wife of the late William O Harrison Jr.
Juanita had many, many talents. Among them were oil painting, paper macchia sculpture, seamstress, baker of chocolate marble cakes, theatrical play set designer & director and many others. She most often used these talents in the service of the Lord at Central Baptist Church. She loved camping with her lady friends, and did so well into her advanced age. She attributed her longevity to going to ‘the spa’ and exercising almost every day and getting plenty of sleep.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry L Harrison, two sons, Wilson S. Harrison and Rowland B. Harrison, daughters in law Teri G. Harrison and Paula C. Harrison, five grandchildren, Alexander Robb, Rebecca Robb, Gwen Paszkiewicz, Christie H Tracy and Brent P. Harrison and three great grandchildren, Kayleigh Paszkiewicz, Arya Paszkiewicz and Owen C. Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William O Harrison Jr., her sister, Phyllis Jones, and an infant son William O Harrison III (Jay).
The family will receive friends on December 20, 2017 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Central Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA. The graveside service will be held on December 21, 2017 at 10:00am at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia. After the graveside service the family will be having a Celebration of life at the church.
