John “Jackie” Robert Nelson, 75, of Virginia Beach passed away on March 6th, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born August 18th, 1948, in Norfolk, Virginia. He was the second of three sons born to Richard and Arlene Nelson. John, also known as “Jack” or “Jackie” grew up in Norfolk, where he married his sweetheart, Karen L. Nelson and together they had one daughter, Melissa.
John joined the merchant marines when he was young. You could say he was a jack of all trades and a master of them all! He will be remembered most for his skills with motorcycles. He was a mechanic and builder of many bikes over the years, earning the nickname “the bike whisperer”. The Biker community will miss him.
John, “Jack”, “Jackie”, or to many, “Uncle Jack” was a great storyteller. He was good….no, great at whatever he did. He touched many lives. If he was your friend, you had a friend for life. He was the type of person who could change a life just by being a part of it.
He was predeceased by his parents, Richard J. Nelson and Arlene B. Nelson; younger brother, Thomas L. Nelson; and his true love, Karen L. Nelson. John’s wife passed two weeks to the day before he left us. He is with his girl forever now.
John is survived by his daughter, Melissa Faris; granddaughter, Jordan N. Nelson; great-grandsons, Raidan and Kash Baez; “bonus” grandkids: Dominik, Lexi, and Gabby Baez; his older brother, Richard Nelson, Jr.; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
John was truly an amazing man, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by so many.

Brian Christopher Wyatt passed away on February 25, 2024, surrounded by family after courageously battling a brief illness. He was born on November 14, 1977, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Brian worked as a truck driver for FedEx for many years. Brian loved electronics and trucking. He had a knack for finding anything anyone needed to make life’s issues easier. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends as well as traveling with his wife.
Brian leaves behind his loving wife, Irish Basanez Wyatt, and his dearly devoted parents Mitzie and Allen (Buddy). Zora, the family dog, will dearly miss Brian’s daily visits to his parents’ home. Zora waited every day for Brian to come. This was the only time Zora would eat her dinner. Brian was loved by so many people for his contagious smile and unconditional love for others. His sudden death has left a void in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
Brian’s knack for storytelling and his infectious laughter will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. In his memory, may we cherish the moments shared and the impact he made during his time with us.
