Ed Slate and family
We wish to convey our sincere condolences to Joey's family and many friends and co-workers. While Joey left us way too early, I truly believe the many good memories and deeds he left behind will sustain us all for many years to come.
I met Joey almost 20 years ago while our two companies tried to form a business partnership. Though our companies failed to partner, Joey and I instantly bonded. This led to a close working relationship that has lasted to this day. In those early days, I saw in Joey a devoted employee that set a high bar for hard work, honesty and integrity. Since then, I've come to appreciate and admire Joey's ability to manage a stressful work situation while remaining cool headed and always acting as a gentleman. But Joey also knew there was more to life than just work. Though I dont know a lot about his immediate family, I do know that he was compassionate about family and friends. In our regular weekly phone conversations, Joey never failed to ask how my family and I were doing, always out of genuine concern and interest.
We can all learn quite a few lessons from Joey and his way too premature departure. We lost a good man... RIP Joey!
