Gene had a passion for photography, music, and dancing to Latin music. Through his photography he showed us his view of the world. He noticed the small things. He found the beauty of a drop of water on a leaf or small pebble on the beach. He loved sunsets, sunrises and everything in between.
He was an eternal optimist. His unbreakable spirit helped him maintain his easy smile as he fought for his life and health. Always compassionate, always grateful, his warmth and kindness remain in the hearts of those who love him.
He had an unquenchable curiosity. He never stopped learning and asking questions. This drive motivated his academic accomplishments. One his proudest moments was earning a master’s degree in public administration.
He loved traveling, good food and most of all spending his time talking with his grandchildren.
Gene is survived by his wife Rosana Colvin; his parents, James and Hazel Colvin; sisters, Debbie and Mauriel; daughter, Chyna; and grandchildren, Chris, Seven, Egypt, and Selena
