Edward Olin Sharp Jr, 63, resident of Chesapeake, VA, passed away suddenly on June 5, 2019. He was born on January 30, 1956 in Inglewood California.
He was a resident of South Norfolk and Plymouth Park for many years. Ed was always willing to help a friend in need, and was dedicated to his family. He was known for his hilarious jokes and being the giant teddy bear of a man, on the little bike. Ed was a devout father and beloved friend that will be missed by many.
Ed is survived by his children’s mother, Doris McKenny Sharp, daughter, Crissy Lorraine Ward, and son, Edward Olin Sharp the III, and step daughter Laura McKenny Hamilton. Grand children Shawn Allen Sharp, Kiya Angelia Sharp, Dameon Alexander Sharp, and Kaycee Lee Sharp. Sisters Brenda Maya, Lori Cowan and Tami Jones, along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both his mother Justine Eula Bain and father Edward Olin Sharp Sr., and his son Shawn Allen Sharp and brother Robert W. Sharp Sr.
We will not be sad for the loss of a beautiful human, we will celebrate the time that we had with him. Ed wasn’t a perfect human being, who of us are, but one thing that he did every day, was to try to devote himself to his family and to try to make up for his faults.
A memorial for Ed’s life will be held on Ocean View Beach, near Harrison’s Fishing Pier. Everyone is welcome. Wear your tee shirts and jean, work boots, and flip flops too. Bring your cooler of drinks and snacks to share with everyone. Please bring pictures of Ed that you have to share, stories and jokes as well to celebrate his life with everyone. We are looking have something to celebrate Ed’s life, that Ed himself would be comfortable at.
Dates will be posted for the memorial as soon as provisions can be made.
