Amelia, known to many in the community and our family, as "Grandma", was one of the most loving, kindest, caring humans on Earth. She loved her family & friends with all her heart. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Amelia had a love for nature, flowers, plants & all living things. Any dog, cat or bird that crossed her path instantly found a best friend and treat-giver. Grandma could speak to anyone & always had wonderful and interesting stories to share of her childhood & life in the Philippines. Grandma was also very passionate about her Catholic faith and lived her life in God's image. Ask anyone and they will tell you when you think of Grandma, you instantly think of Love & what a beautiful soul she had.
Left to cherish her memory are: two sons: Andrew Rhodes, Matthew Rhodes and wife Maria Workman; two daughters: Elizabeth Pangilinan and husband Ely, Nelita Zoscak and husband Donald; five grandchildren: Nikolaos Rhodes, Aaron Pangilinan, Jessica Pangilinan, Alanna Zoscak, John Zoscak; brother, Bayani De Guzman; sister, Carmen De Guzman. Amelia will also be remembered by her extended family: aunt, nephews, nieces, cousins, great-nieces/nephews, and dearest friends in Virginia, California, New Jersey, and the Philippines. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Ronald Rhodes.
