Geraldine Antonia “TONI” Banashak was called to Heaven on May 18, 2020 at the age of 67. She was born in New Orleans, at Hotel Dieu Hospital. She was the proud daughter of the late Joe Banashak and Bobbie Banashak (and proud that she was the only one of her siblings to be born in a "Hotel").

Toni is also survived by great nieces and nephews, Uncle Shannon Hamby and family, cousin Susie Thompson, Tom and Stephanie Krimsier and family, along with many others that were part of Toni’s Team.
Toni loved Jesus with ALL her heart! She was never shy about sharing her faith with those she met. Even though Toni faced many challenges, God gave her the ability to see her life as HE did. She was HIS precious child.
Toni enjoyed most spending time with her family and especially her furry family members, currently Copper, Coby, Sage, Saint, Brownie and Knut, with a long list of those already greeting her in Heaven. She was always a pet lover and asked everyone she met if they had a pet. She had an exceptional memory, never forgetting someone’s pet’s name or anyone’s birth date, which was quite remarkable to all who knew her.
Toni attended St. Michael’s Special School in New Orleans, Louisiana, her hometown (as she would remind us). She was a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan. As an adult Toni was employed by Eggleston Services and was actively involved with Skillquest Services of Virginia Beach before “retiring” in 2019.
A friend to many, Toni loved with a big heart and was loved well by all who knew her. She is irreplaceable and will be missed deeply by all.
We, her family, are so fortunate to have had her sweet smile and presence in our lives and will forever be better for knowing and loving her. To God be the glory! We are so thankful for the wonderful caregivers who have blessed Toni throughout her life, including her nail technician Linda at Color Nails.
A memorial service will be held with family at a later date in Waveland, Mississippi. Memorial contributions can be made in Toni’s honor to First Assembly of God Waveland, 1912 Arnold St. Waveland, MS 39576 and Go Church, 333 Edwin Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
