Obituary

Audrey A. Wallace, age 90, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away February 10, 2021. Audrey was born on August 3, 1930 in Pennsylvania to Edward and Rose Ager.

Audrey worked as a homemaker, taking care of her family was what she devoted herself to. She was also a member of Saint Luke Catholic Church. In her free time, she loved reading and knitting.

Audrey was a Pear Harbor survivor and witnessed the attack on December 7, 1941. Her father was at home with his family when the attack began. He raced to his ship, the USS Pruitt, a destroyer. Chief Ager’s family didn’t know for 10 days if he was alive. Finally, a sailor came to their home informing the family that the Chief was well.

Audrey and her husband, William Wallace, loved to travel and spent their golden years travelling the country in an RV, visiting their children and friends.

She is survived by her children William Wallace, Jr., Peter Wallace, Deborah Wallace Dise, Christopher Wallace, Andrew Wallace and Elizabeth Wallace. Also, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Wallace, Sr.

Audrey will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was very gregarious and loved recounting her memories of her time in Pearl Harbor and travelling throughout the county.

A funeral service will be held on March 6, 2021 at St Luke's Catholic Church starting at 11am. The service will also be live-streamed on Facebook.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Audrey's name to the National Hospice Foundation. https://netforum.nhpco.org/eweb/DynamicPage.aspx?Site=NHPCO&Webcode=GlobalDonate

Audrey always had a smile and a hug for you when visiting her. She would say, “ Just push the clothes over and sit down,” Audrey shared amazing stories of her life as she lived in such interesting times.. During my beginning violin lessons she always encouraged me and told me I was improving. I miss Audrey and our talks and will remember her every time I play my violin. Love you, Debbie Cunningham

Ms. Audrey was always a kind woman to my wife and I. We only knew her during the last couple years of her life as we would provide the Body of Christ to her after we attended Mass at St. Luke Church. She loved to reminisce about the past and we enjoyed listening. She often talked about the books she had read. Unfortunately the pandemic would not allow us to visit her after Church and we are saddened that we weren’t able to say good by in person. We know she will enjoy eternal life with her husband and our Holy Family in Heaven! God Bless your soul Ms. Audrey.

I had the Honor and privilege of being Audrey's hairdresser for many years and not only did she touch my life, but everyone she met she left a warm and lasting impression. I always enjoyed our talks and listening to her break into a little Diddy from back in the day or listing to her memories from all her adventures but most of all her wicked sense of humor. The memory I will carry with me is Audrey's hugs, she gave the Best hugs ever❣️I loved her very much and feel better having known her❣️❣️
