Our beloved Angelica Moya Hernandez, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at her home in Virginia Beach. She was born on June 18, 1933 in Hatillo, Puerto Rico to Leonardo and Carmen Moya, and was the eldest of fourteen children. She was a faithful Christian woman, who read her bible daily, and was known amongst family and friends as a prayer warrior. She is affectionately remembered for her smile and happy nature, and for empowering others with her words of support and kindness. She was a selfless, giving, and compassionate woman, and dedicated her life to her family and to the Lord. Angelica was a beloved member of her home church, Pentecostal Assemblies of God, in Brooklyn, New York for thirty-five years. She instilled in her family the word of God and her love for Christ, and won souls for God’s kingdom. She loved to chat and share stories, and could talk on the phone with her family and friends for hours. She was predeceased by her husband, Herminio Hernandez, and she is survived by her sons, Edgar (Mickey) and Elliott (Evelyn), her daughters, Leti (Richie), Liz (Brad), and Doris (Brian), eight of her siblings, fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and her family dog, Chloe. She was a faithful servant until the end, and God returned that faithfulness to her by so peacefully taking her from this earth. Though we know that she is rejoicing with the angels, and will dwell in the house of the Lord forever, she will be greatly missed. Until we meet again. Family, friends, and others whose lives have been touched by Angelica, are invited to the FAMILY CHOICE FUNERAL HOME, 5401 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, for a celebratory memorial service at 5pm on Friday, May 28, 2021.
