Kevin Lance Gilbert, 60, passed away May 28, 2021. Kevin was born on April 13, 1961 in Parsons, Kansas to Raymond Gilbert and Beverly Grant Gilbert.

Kevin worked as an IT Specialist after a lifetime of achievements. He graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelors in Computer Science and went on to receive his masters in his field from George Mason University. Kevin was a US Army 1st Lieutenant and a US Army Ranger with the 25th Infantry Division.
Kevin was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of Colonial Baptist Church in Virginia Beach. He showed his love for Jesus by sharing his love with others. Not only did he volunteer with Union Mission and fostering young men that needed mentors, but he also volunteered his time with our four legged friends by being involved in cat rescue. Kevin often attended and taught men’s Bible study groups. He was a generous, kind, charitable, silly, caring, and loving man.
He is survived by his sisters: Robin Gilbert of Safety Harbor, Florida, Dr. Dori Gilbert Fileccia and her husband Carl Fileccia of Virginia Beach; niece, Gabrielle DeJesu of Chesapeake; and many other extended family and friends.
A memorial service for Kevin will be held on June 10 at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations starting at 6PM. An inurnment will follow on Friday, June 11 at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery at 11AM. At the request of the family, in honor of Kevin, please wear your military clothing or Redskins apparel.
